Sometimes it can be incredibly difficult to find time to sit down and crack a book open. With all of the responsibilities in our lives, we need a strategy to be able to learn efficiently.


This list below includes some of the books that I've found helpful when I'm going through a busy season. Many of these books have only a page or two to read each day.

  • J. I. Packer, Concise Theology: A Guide to Historic Christian Beliefs (Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale, 2001).

  • Kevin DeYoung, Daily Doctrine: A One-Year Guide to Systematic Theology (Wheaton, IL: Crossway, 2024).

  • R. C. Sproul, Essential Truths of the Christian Faith (Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale, 1992).

  • Wayne Grudem, Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know, edited by Elliot Grudem, revised edition (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Academic, 2022). (This book is a 200 page condensed version of his larger 1,000 page book Systematic Theology. Grudem also has a medium, 500 page version called Bible Doctrine.)
